Stamp Out Poverty With Your Old Stamps!
Every year, Oxfam raises tens of thousands of dollars by collecting stamps and envelopes from individuals and companies. Learn more about our Stamp Out Poverty program.
Believe it or not, those used stamps and envelopes can add up!
For more than 35 years, Oxfam Canada volunteers have been raising funds by collecting donated stamps and envelopes, and sorting and selling stamps to collectors. In 2021 alone, the Stamp Out Poverty program raised nearly $30,000 for Oxfam's COVID-19 response around the world, with a focus on the needs of women and girls.
Donating Stamps
How can you help? Save your stamps!
We’ll gladly accept:
- Foreign stamps
- Canadian stamps
- Commemorative stamps
Keep the entire envelope if there are:
- Clearly identifiable town/village postmarks
- Registered/special delivery postmarks
Once you’ve collected your stamps and envelopes, please send them to our National Office:
ATTN: Oxfam Stamp Program

Ottawa, Ontario

Please note we do not issue charitable tax receipts for in-kind gifts of stamps or other philatelic material.
If you are considering making a donation of stamps and require a charitable tax receipt, we recommend you contact your local stamp auction house or stamp dealer. They will be able to help you price your stamps as well as sell them. Once the sale is complete, you can donate the proceeds of the sale to the Oxfam Stamp Program and we will be able to issue a receipt based on the amount received.
Purchasing Stamps
The Stamp Out Poverty program raises funds primarily from mail order sales, semi-annual auctions and stamp shows, such as Orapex. This type of sale is an opportunity to give wide visibility to unusual or “one of a kind” materials that we have received.
